WHAT CAN I USE QR CODES FOR?
QR codes were invented in Japan and are a part of everyday life there. In recent years, the QR code has become a very effective promotional marketing tool, becoming more and more popular in The United States and most recently in the UK and Europe. Once you know what a QR code is, and you have easily obtained a free scanning App, you will start to use them too. The main reason is that there is something in it for the user.
There are so many promotional ideas in which to use QR codes effectively. Their use eliminates the need to print tickets for example, or vouchers and other items one would traditionally print.
A QR code is like a barcode on steroids! once you have downloaded a very simple App for your smartphone you are set to go. There are many Apps available for all smartphones including Apple, Android and Windows systems. They all work very well. I personally use 'QR READER' on my iPhone, not a scanner. The difference is one just reads the code when you point your phone at it, the scanner however is slower.
Like I say, these are available for all smartphones and they are FREE, so download one and if you don't like it try another, it's very easy and quick to do.
The App uses the camera in your smartphone and makes it a scanner. Simply point your phone at the QR code. The camera locks onto the QR code, processes the information and takes you to your Digital Biz Card..
Apart from using QR codes to go to your Digital Biz Card, you can also use them to point to your website, Facebook or Twitter (we will make all of these accessible from your Digital Biz Card. You can create special offers available only when the customer scans a code, which can give them a discount voucher, entry ticket or coupon etc.
This is a great way to build a database or simply to monitor who is looking at your business and what interests them most.
Codes can be printed and put in a shop window, on a counter top or on stickers.
